How Does PRP for Hair Loss Work?

Also known as platelet-rich plasma therapy, PRP is a medical hair loss treatment that uses a person’s own blood to produce new hair. It triggers natural hair growth by releasing growth factors that stimulant dormant hair follicles. When the blood is drawn, we extract the platelet-rich plasma and inject it into the scalp in specific locations where there is hair loss or thinning hair.

We administer PRP by using a micro-needle, so the procedure is not painful. There is only minimal discomfort. The end results are amazing for our clients. In fact, in as little as two weeks, you may see new hairs growing in the treated areas. And in three to six months, you will experience noticeable results — a fuller head of hair. Other benefits of PRP hair treatment includes:

  • Safe & Trusted Procedure
  • Minimal Discomfort
  • Fast Recovery with Little Downtime
  • Virtually Risk-Free
  • Proven Results
  • Non-Invasive Method for Hair Regrowth
  • Affordable Hair Treatment Option

What You Can Expect Before and During Treatment

When you arrive for your treatment, your blood will be drawn – about 1/4 of an ounce. Your blood contains the platelets that will promote hair growth. We inject your own platelets 3 mm deep into your scalp at various locations where there is hair loss. Even though most patient’s do not experience any discomfort, we apply a very effective topical anesthetic/numbing cream prior to your treatment.

The entire process takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Before the procedure, do not take aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents. These medications result in blood thinning, which could impede the healing process.
